This project was born out of the recent devastating floods experienced in many parts of Australia. Interviews with people who had lost everything identified again and again that their biggest loss was the family records such as photo album and other forms of family memorabilia.
The value of family and tribal history has been made available down through the ages from cave carvings and paintings, through the telling of tribal history by the older generation to new one in the form of stories and later with the written word first by a few educated scribes and later by the masses through education.
We wanted to create a vehicle that not only provided maximum protection from floods, fires, earthquakes etc but also allowed ordinary people to share their life in a more informative way with future generations that they may never ever meet.
In designing this vehicle we have provided the greatest amount of opportunity for freedom of expression by individuals but in a logical format that could be easily followed. This is why the options provided include:
- For those who are computer literate the opportunity to input their own information personally
- For those who are not computer literate or would prefer assistance this can be provided for a fee
As we wanted these documents to able to be added to and updated over time, we provide a hosting service for a monthly fee.
At any time after joining this program should you decide to discontinue your participation then only a one month notification is required. At discontinuation or earlier if required you we may have a CD loaded with your information made available to you.
